According to the latest report, Chrysler Group no longer be selling the Journey as a Dodge, but as a  Fiat-branded model known as the Freemont by June of 2011, says Automotive News. The Freemont, according to AN’s sources, will recieve a minor cosmetic overhaul inside and out to give the crossover a unique appeal, as well as adjustments to the vehicle’s suspension in order to better match European tastes.

Of course, a diesel powertrain will also make its way into the Freemont, but this time the 2.0-liter diesel will be Fiat’s own 170 horsepower unit, rather than the 140 horsepower 2.0-liter unit currently being sourced from Volkswagen for the Dodge Journey.

I’m sure they will release more details soon! Click on any of the pictures below to see more photos of the 2011 Dodge Journey.

Ram Trucks announced last week that they are launching a “Battle of the Bands” on the Ram Facebook page. Here’s what they had to say about it.

“We do love us some good country music, which is exactly why we’re kicking off our first-ever “Battle of the Bands.” You read that right! If you’ve got a toe-tapping country group, submit your country music video starting today on our Facebook page.  Voting kicks off on Jan. 3, 2011 and wraps up on Feb. 13, giving fans over a full month to pick their favorite video.”

Ram Trucks have long been a supporter of the country music genre, from large acts to individual performers. Beginning with a partnership with the Zac Brown Band, that support has grown into their very own country channel, Ram Country, on Yahoo.

So there you go would-be country stars, get your cameras geared up and ready to shoot! This is your chance to make it to the big time!

Being built at the Brampton (Ontario) Assembly Plant, the 2011 Chrysler 300 is scheduled to arrive at Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Dealers early next year. The 300 is designed to deliver “the distinction, innovation and premium large sedan features at a legendary value, while setting a new course for the American brand.”

Highlights include:

  • An all-new grille featuring seven deeply sculpted horizontal blades that express precision.
  • Illuminating the road ahead are signature “key slot” headlamps with a scalloped lower edge.
  • The profile of the Chrysler 300 features the distinctive proportions of its predecessor with added design refinement for a more tailored appearance. Dramatic front-fender forms rise above the sculpted hood and are echoed by rear-quarter forms which rise above the deck lid and travel down the vertical taillamps for an unmistakably bold signature silhouette.
  • The windshield has been raked back 3 inches, while rolled-framed doors with thinner pillars improve outward visibility by 15 percent.
  • A new dual-pane panoramic sunroof provides passengers twice the outward visibility of a standard sunroof.
  • For a more contemporary appearance, the 2011 Chrysler 300 features a clean bodyside with a distinct windswept A-line that emphasizes the sedan’s long wheelbase and spacious cabin.
  • Elevating the all-new Chrysler 300’s presence from the rear, the deck lid now incorporates a lip spoiler while the new Chrysler wing badge is proudly centered below.
  • Jeweled-like rear taillamps feature harmonious LED illumination, while signature “light pipes” illuminate for an alluring nighttime appearance.
  • Substantial interior upgrades on the all-new Chrysler 300 include soft touch materials, premium interior trim, available heated and ventilated Nappa leather seats, and real wood appliques on the instrument panel, doors, center console and steering wheel.
  • With its massive 8.4-inch Uconnect® Touch infotainment center, the all-new Chrysler 300 sedans feature the segment’s largest standard touchscreen display, integrating world-class infotainment and convenience technologies to keep passengers connected, comfortable and secure.

So there you have it, Chrysler says they should be showing up anytime in January, though they’re not offering a specific arrival date. Check out some of the new pictures of the 300 by clicking one of the images below to see more. Thanks for checking us out!

I came across this amazing video after Jeep posted it on the Jeep Facebook Page. It took eight people, seven to “play” the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and one guy to mix the sound. They’ve rigged the vehicle with Microphones and spent two weeks rehearsing their parts. Seven hours worth of filming later, and you have Techno Jeep! Pretty amazing. Check it out and let us know what you think!

The holiday season has left us pretty busy at Chrysler Catchall, as well as at Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Dealers across the nation. So again today we’re offering you “Under The Pentastar,” Chrysler Group LLC‘s video series detailing the daily going ons at Chrysler Group. Enjoy!

“The news never stops at Chrysler Group and our various brands. It’s been a pretty good week — with Dodge and Jeep® brands taking two of the three nominations for the North American Truck of the Year Award. The winners of the Truck of the Year Award and the Car of the Year Award are scheduled to be announced during the 2011 North American International Auto Show.

Other news you’ll find Under the Pentastar include:

Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Dealers are loving the new 2011 line of vehicles, and the awards that keep stacking up along side them. Automobile Magazine just announced that the 2011 Ram 1500 was picked for its 2011 All Star List. Here’s what they had to say about the 2011 Ram1500.

The Ram 1500 scored its second All-Star award in two years by combining a tough-truck soul with the creature comforts of a large family sedan. Just don’t call it a Dodge. For 2011, the Ram sheds nearly a century of brand baggage to butt heads with competing half-ton haulers on its own.

The 1500’s not-so-secret weapon is the pickup world’s only coil-spring rear suspension. In contrast to traditional semi-elliptic leaf springs forced to provide both resilience and a means of attachment, coils are single-purpose devices. They supply friction-free give over bumps while five suspension links keep the rear wheels pointing in the preferred direction. This results in a supple ride and predictable handling with no loss of hauling or towing capability.”‘

Jeep still isn’t releasing the full details on it’s Compass yet, but it is giving Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Dealers and Owners a peek at it. Yesterday Jeep released a series of photos on their Blog, Facebook Page, and Flickr pages. They also had this to say about it.

“The 2011 Jeep® Compass — taking a design cue or two from the Jeep Grand Cherokee — has a number of high-end creature comforts and safety features as standard. Just like you’ve seen on several other Chrysler Group vehicles.

Still, it is a Jeep vehicle. It offers Trail Rated® 4×4 capability with Freedom Drive II® Off-Road package.”

And that’s all they’re telling us for now. In the mean time, check out the pictures and drop us a line letting us know what you think of Chrysler Catchall! As always, click the images below to see more.

I figured today I’d take it easy on myself and the readers by bringing you “Under The Pentastar,” Chrysler Group’s series of informational videos detailing the daily goings on of Chrysler Group LLC. Here’s what Chrysler had to say this week:

“The year may be wrapping up but there’s no end to the news and happenings at Chrysler Group. This week, our own Betty Carrier Newman wraps up the week’s highlights Under the Pentastar:

  • Celebration of jobs and investment at Sterling Heights (MI) Assembly Plant
  • Ram Trucks named Manufacturer of the Year — find out which magazine gave us the honor
  • New Pentastar V-6 Engine gets its own honor as one of the 10 best engines of the year”

On October 9th of 2009, Chrysler Group LLC announced that Ram Trucks would split off from Dodge and become its own brand. The new 2011 Trucks would no longer be known as Dodges, but as Rams. For example, in 2010 a half ton would be labeled as a “Dodge Ram 1500.” The same truck in 2011 will be known as a “Ram 1500.” Chrysler’s thinking behind this is that it will allow Ram to flourish on its own, while differentiating it from the Dodge Car brand which is currently reinventing itself from the inside out.

“The brand-focused strategy has been refined further with the unbundling of the Dodge Brand which now consists of the Dodge Ram Brand and the Dodge Car Brand organizations. This reorganization will allow us to protect and develop the unique nature of the product offerings within the Dodge brand,” Chrysler/Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne stated.

Fred Diaz Jr. will head the new Ram truck unit. The Ram brand will be expanded to include more of Fiat’s commercial trucks sold in Europe, filling a hole left when former Chrysler parent Daimler recently took the rights to the Sprinter commercial van being sold as a Dodge.

Ralph Gilles was appointed President and CEO, Dodge Car Brand with profit and loss responsibility for the Dodge Car product portfolio. Mr. Gilles will continue to lead the Product Design organization of Chrysler Group which he joined in 1992.

While the name has changed, there haven’t been many changes to the truck. For more info on what has been changed, check out our previous post on the Further Refinement of Ram Trucks.

So there you have it! Say goodbye to Dodge Trucks, and hello to the future of the Ram Brand! Click any of the images below to see more pictures of the new Rams.

Chrysler Group LLC celebrated the extension of production, the addition of a second shift and an $850 million investment at an event yesterday at its Sterling Heights (Mich.) Assembly Plant. The celebration also marked the start of production of the all-new 2011 Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger.

“Today is a historic day for this facility. Not more than 18 months ago, it was slated to close at the end of this year,” said Sergio Marchionne, Chrysler Group LLC CEO. “Now, this plant will not only remain open beyond 2012 and retain jobs, but with the help of the State of Michigan and the City of Sterling Heights, we will make a significant investment in this facility to make it competitive with the best in the industry.

“And with the commitment, dedication and support of our UAW partners and employees, we will continue our product onslaught with the launch of the 2011 Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger, vehicles that we are confident will receive the proper recognition in the marketplace.”

So far the new Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Vehicles have received rave reviews from the likes of Four WheelerOff-Road Adventures, Road and Track, Car and Driver, and more. Chrysler Group LLC has listened to its critics and they like what they see! Keep the new vehicles coming!
