Today we bring you another edition of the Brandl Media Minute. Follow along with yours truly as I break down some of the awesome storage options featured in this Week’s Brandl Media Minute. Today we’re working with a 2011 Ram 1500 in the Laramie LongHorn Trim. This beauty is loaded with some amazing features, most obviously the Saddle Leather Seats. One thing that’s not immediately evident are all of the innovative storage options this truck has to offer, most notably the segment exclusive RamBox. I also show off some of the in floor storage located on Crew Cab Rams, as well as the additional glove box located in the dash.

Stay tuned because we will be doing more Brandl Media Minute Videos explaining more of the great things these vehicles can do! If you have any questions about how to operate your Keyless Enter and Go Passive Entry system, as well as your Uconnect or Media Center radio, or have suggestions on other topics we should cover, send me an email at LT@BrandlMotors.com

In other news,  the 2011 Chrysler Town & Country and the 2011 Dodge Challenger ranked highest in their segments in the J.D. Power and Associates 2011 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS).

The Chrysler Town & Country ranked highest in initial quality in the minivan segment and the Dodge Challenger ranked highest in the mid-size sporty car segment.

Three other Chrysler Group vehicles were highlighted by J.D. Power and Associates for ranking among the top three vehicles of their competitive class: Dodge Durango in the mid-size crossover/SUV category, Dodge Grand Caravan in the minivan category and Ram Dakota in the mid-size pickup segment.

“Having five vehicles rank at or near the top of their segments is the result of a lot of hard work and long hours dedicated to updating our product line. Most automakers, including Chrysler Group, find it challenging to maintain quality levels when launching vehicles with a significant amount of new content. It’s a big accomplishment for our employees and supplier partners to achieve these initial quality results when so many of our 2011 model year launches coincided with the IQS survey period.”

J.D. Power and Associates surveyed owners of new 2011 model year vehicles that were registered between the months of November 2010 through February 2011. IQS measures new vehicle quality at 90 days of ownership.

In the past year, Chrysler Group has launched 16 new or significantly improved vehicles.

“We’ve made steady gains, improving reliability by 58 percent in the past four years, according to our internal warranty data,” Betts said. “We still have more work to do as we continue to improve the quality of all our products.”

“Under the Pentastar” is a quick video recapping important happenings around the company over the past week. This week’s stories include:

And in other news, straight from the mouth of Chrysler themselves:

“Some people say that size doesn’t matter. Through most of its history, Chrysler Group (and its previous iterations) has rarely been the biggest automaker.

That’s okay because as CEO Sergio Marchionne said May 24 at our Sterling Heights (MI) Assembly Plant, the company’s vision and aspiration is not to be the biggest automaker, “just the best.”

Still, it was nice to hear all the good noise made in the May sales stories last week about our fantastic sales for May — when practically every other OEM declined or was flat. We were among the Big 3 again. While we don’t know what the future holds, all of Chrysler Group is hard at work to continue the growth we’ve seen the past year.

And, that growth — looking at gains, not raw numbers — is where Chrysler Group is leading the industry in a handful of segments. Those segments are:

Through the end of May, we’ve been growing and improving — faster than the U.S. auto industry has combined. And, in cases like Compact SUVs, Jeep® brand is driving the growth.

The two tables below look at the five segments noted above. The first table compares May 2011 to May 2010, and the second one compares the first five months of 2011 to the first five months of 2010. The data is from our Demand & Order Management group. You can find similar information at places like the Wall Street Journal’s Market Data Center.”

The blog post I did on the Pickup Truck Conversion Kit a while back has been getting a ton of views recently, so when I saw this come through the airwaves, I knew you guys out there would love to see it!

In the video above, you’ll see the Mopar Performance Off Road Team go nuts and convert this Jeep Wrangler from a 4 door convertible into a 2 door hardtop pickup in less than an hour!  (Relax, in the video it only takes a minute and ten seconds) Pretty impressive, and the results aren’t bad either!

Also, Chrysler has given us the run down on one of their new 300’s coming in next year, The 2012 Chrysler 300s. Check out the video below!
