The reborn and re-imagined Fiat 500 is arriving soon to America. Born in Italy, perfectly tailored for America, the Cinquecento is as vibrant and engaging as it is fit and nimble. The Sport model, featured in these images, illustrates Fiat’s smart and stylish design aesthetic.

Like the original Fiat 500 a half-century ago, the new Cinquecento continues its timeless value while embracing individual expression and opportunity – all infused with world-class craftsmanship. The Cinquecento offers unique adaptations for the North American market and is designed for individuals who demand that style and fashion can coexist with practicality and functionality.

Matching its sport-tuned suspension, the Fiat 500 Sport features athletically styled front and rear fascias with a larger grille and flared aerodynamic treatment. Between its unique 16-in. aluminum wheels with Mineral Gray painted pockets, the Cinquecento incorporates new bodyside sill cladding for an enhanced sport appearance. Completing this athletic vehicle’s appearance are Performance Red painted brake calipers, a chromed exhaust tip and gloss black shadow-line window trim.

The Fiat 500 Sport also features an available SkyDome power sunroof for an ultra-open view of the world. The Fiat 500 also will be available in the Pop and Lounge models with unique exterior cues and different equipment options. The world-class 1.4-liter engine with Fiat’s state-of-the-art MultiAir™ technology powers the Fiat 500 Sport. MultiAir significantly reduces emissions while improving fuel economy and power delivery by up to 10 percent when compared to similar engines.

The Fiat 500’s technology, driving dynamics and interior features have been intelligently adapted for the North American market, and it will offer small-car buyers a stylish, high-value alternative. The all-new Fiat 500 will be available for ordering later this year in the Sport, Pop and Lounge models, followed by the all-new Fiat 500C (cabrio) in the spring of 2011.

New for 2011, the Dodge Nitro Heat 4.0 lifestyle package joins the Detonator, Shock and Heat models that arrived at Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Dealers in 2010. The new Nitro Heat 4.0 comes standard with a five-speed automatic transmission, standard Uconnect® Phone and an upgraded eight-speaker sound system. Of course the Heat 4.0 would not be complete without the powerful 4.0-liter V-6 engine as standard equipment. The all-aluminum 4.0-liter overhead cam V-6 engine delivers 260 horsepower (194 kW) and 265 lb.-ft. (359 N•m) of torque.

The all-new Dodge Nitro lineup was revised and renamed in 2010, offering new exterior and interior styling features. These newly repackaged models – Heat, Detonator and Shock along with the Heat 4.o Lifestyle Package – provide Nitro customers with more standard content and style, including 20-in. aluminum wheels, sunscreen glass and performance suspension paint. Detonator packs a punch with 23 percent more horsepower and 12 percent more torque than the smaller V-6 offering. Detonator shares its powertrain with Heat 4.0, including the aluminum 4.0-liter overhead cam V-6 engine and five-speed automatic transmission. The Detonator package also features 20-in. polished aluminum wheels, nine premium speakers with subwoofer, remote start and Parksense® rear park assist system.

The Dodge Nitro Shock is fully loaded and with the new polished 20-in. aluminum premium-painted wheels, heated leather seats and a sunroof along with the 4.0-liter overhead cam V-6 engine and five-speed automatic transmission. The 2011 Compass is already being called the “Mini Cherokee,” and with good reason! Jeep has basically adapted the look of the all new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee front end and down sized it to fit on the front clip of the new Compass. It gives the new vehicle a much cleaner look. Chances are that Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Dealers and Jeep owners alike won’t miss the big round headlights of the Compass’s of years prior.

The vehicle also appears to receive a facelift to the rear facia, making it appear more clean than the previous Compass. There are also several tweaks to the interior, including steering wheel controls for the radio/navigation system.

Sources say that Jeep will try to keep the Compass under wraps until the Detroit Auto Show. Until then, check out the photos from SecretNewCars.com below and leave us a comment! Click on any of the photos to see more.

Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Dealers will see a new Ram rolling off the truck, the “Ram Laramie Long Horn.” One look at the interior of this truck and the first thing that pops into my mind is “King Ranch.” Its borrows a couple of styling cues from Ford’s high end trim of pickups, and has so far been openly received by Ram lovers the world over.

Laramie Longhorn comes standard with much of the equipment found on the Ram Laramie and adds a navigational radio, remote start, back-up camera, front ventilated seats and rear heated seats.   Ram Heavy Duty Laramie Longhorn editions will also come standard with power adjustable pedals with memory, and front heated seats with 10-way driver’s adjustment.

Ram Truck owners and dealers tell us they love everything about the new Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500,” added Diaz. “With so many great features, we weren’t surprised to see our most well-equipped model – Ram Laramie – making up 25 percent of our sales. There’s a healthy market for luxury pickup trucks and Ram Laramie Longhorn edition hits the mark.”

Ram Laramie Longhorn will be available in 1500 (half-ton), 2500 HD (3/4 ton) and 3500 HD single and dual rear wheel (1 ton), Crew Cab and Mega Cab; four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive; and short- and long-wheelbase models.

Ram Laramie Longhorn models will arrive at Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Dealers in the first quarter 2011. Prices will be announced closer to launch. Check out the photos below! As usual, click on any of them to see more!

Chrysler released a minisite off their mainsite on 11-19-10 with more photos of the upcoming Chrysler 300. These are the the only photos officially released by Chrysler, although decent quality spy shots of the new 300 have already surfaced. The all new 300 takes cues from its European counterparts as evidenced in the headlights and other areas. The new grille is very similar to what will be seen on the Chrysler 200, which also bears the new Chrysler Wing Logo. All in all this is a sharp looking vehicle!

Rumors are flying around the internet that Chrysler will keep the rest of the vehicle under wraps until the Detroit Auto Show which starts on January 10th of 2011. So chances are Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealers won’t be seeing them anytime before then.

CVT Transmissions are becoming increasingly popular among Automakers these days. According to Wikipedia “A ContinuouslyVariable Transmission (CVT) is a transmission that can change steplessly through an infinite number of effective gear ratios between maximum and minimum values.

This can provide better fuel economy than other transmissions by enabling the engine to run at its most efficient revolutions per minute (RPM) for a range of vehicle speeds. Alternatively it can be used to maximize the performance of a vehicle by allowing the engine to turn at the RPM at which it produces peak power.”

Chrysler uses it’s version of the CVT, the CVT2 in a number of their vehicles including the Caliber, Patriot, and Compass. It’s a pulley based CVT that operates very similar to a clutch in a snowmobile. The CVT transmission uses two V-pulleys and a steel push belt to vary the input to output speed ratio. The transmission engages the torque converter clutch almost immediately when accelerating, and keeps engaged throughout speed changes, eliminating slippage and increasing efficiency.

Optimized gear ratios, especially in the 30-60 mph range, improve passing and feel more responsive. Continuously varying the transmission ratio allows the engine to stay in its most efficient operating range. Check out the images and video below to help illustrate how everything works.
