  • One-stop spot for general information about customer’s Dodge vehicle, including operation, maintenance and warranty information
  • App available for download to smartphones powered by Android, iTunes or BlackBerry platforms

The Dodge brand and Mopar are making it easier than ever for owners to connect with their vehicles, giving electronic information at their fingertips with a free, new smartphone application.

The new Mopar apps provide vehicle operation, maintenance and warranty information, as well as product feature video demonstrations, connections with fellow owners via the company’s brands on social media sites and access to customer care and 24-hour road-side assistance. Because the system is digital, it also allows Dodge to make updates to the “electronic” owner’s manual in real-time.

Dodge vehicles feature the latest technology to keep our active customers connected and on the move,” said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO — Dodge Car Brand. “This is an example of how we are better connecting with our Dodge owners, responding to their needs and growing our relationship with them.”

New Dodge Durango and Charger owners can now download vehicle information applications to select personal smartphones. The new Mopar feature, developed by Michigan-based Tweddle Group, is designed to support vehicles in the U.S. market. The applications will first be available for iPhone and later for BlackBerry and Android devices on major mobile carriers. Applications for the Avenger, Journey and Grand Caravan will be available in mid-January 2011.

Dodge’s new vehicle-information application is part of our company’s customer care initiatives and creates a convenient, on-demand channel of communication with our customers,” said Pietro Gorlier, President – Mopar Service, Parts and Customer Care, Chrysler Group LLC. “This communication will enhance customer experience with a source for owners and potential owners to learn about Dodge products.”

Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Dealers were excited when Chrysler released photos last week of the all new 2011 Chrysler 200 Convertible. The 200 Convertible offers consumers an open-air driving experience featuring elegant craftsmanship inside and out, a fun, yet refined driving experience, innovative technology, an abundance of standard safety features and an extraordinary level of standard content. The 2011 Chrysler 200 Convertible is an exciting alternative for customers who want the benefits of a coupe and the true open-air freedom of a convertible, all at a remarkable value.

Redesigned and re-engineered for 2011, the Chrysler 200 Convertible is unique in the standard specialty segment as a true mid-sized convertible that comfortably seats four adults and has ample room in the trunk, even when the power top is dropped. Consumers can choose from two automatically latching tops, a body-color painted steel, retractable hard top, or a cloth soft top, both of which can drop with the press of a button on the key fob.

Dealers are still anxiously awaiting the arrival of the 200 and 300, as most of the new vehicles from Chrysler Group have been arriving at Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Dealers already.

Chrysler Group LLC and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) today announced a partnership to determine the possibility of adapting a hydraulic hybrid system for large passenger cars and light-duty vehicles.

The announcement was made at the EPA laboratories in Ann Arbor, Mich., following a meeting with Sergio Marchionne, Chrysler Group CEO, and Lisa P. Jackson, Agency Administrator for the EPA.

“In addition to creating the jobs of the future, clean energy benefits the U.S. economy by ultimately making energy costs more affordable for consumers – especially if their dollars stay in America,” Marchionne said. “Hydraulic hybrid vehicle technology is one more promising path worth pursuing in the effort to reduce our carbon footprint, and we are excited to partner with the EPA to push forward on this track.”

Last year, Chrysler Group was the first automotive company to replace traditional, bulky owner manuals with DVDs and user guides. This year, the company is introducing the industry’s first smartphone vehicle-information application. Information that used to be stuffed into the glove box will now be at your fingertips.

In addition to general vehicle information including vehicle operation, maintenance and warranty, this new app offers product-feature video demonstrations, connections with fellow owners via the company’s brands on social media sites, and access to customer care and 24-hour road-side assistance.

“With our vehicle-information app, we are taking customer care to a new level by creating a convenient, on-demand channel of communication with our customers,” said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar®, Chrysler Group LLC. “Creating this new channel of communication will enhance the customer experience. And it’s a great example of how we can add value to our vehicles and build brand identity. This new app will also be a source for potential customers to learn about our vehicles.”

Look for the Chrysler apps where you normally go to get your apps, such as the iPhone store or the Android Market.

The message rings out loud and clear. “CHRYSLER IS BACK!” You can hear its cry at auto shows,  on TV, and all over the internet. Chrysler has completely rebuilt it’s brand image in the matter of a little over a year, and so far they’ve been successful. Sales have been up at Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealerships across the country.

Joann Muller of Forbes Magazine had this to say about Chrysler on her blog:

“Everyone was buzzing about Chrysler’s turnaround. I bumped into Mike Jackson, chief executive of the country’s largest publicly traded dealer network, AutoNation, who never minces words about what’s wrong with the companies that make the vehicles he sells. “It’s the most remarkable transformation of an existing production run I’ve ever seen in the history of this business,” he marveled. “They’ve gone from Third World quality to world class in 18 months.”

Don’t believe the hype? Do some googling yourself and see what people are saying. Or head over to your local Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealers and check out the vehicles for yourself!
